Homeopathy for Pregnancy

During pregnancy some women will chose to live with symptoms such as morning sickness, constipation, heartburn or tiredness because they are concerned about the possible side effects of conventional medicine on their unborn child. Homeopathy can be safely used during pregnancy because the remedies work on an energetic level, so they contain no potentially harmful substance that could damage the fetus or the mother. Homeopathic remedies are very useful in labor, as well as helping the mother and baby recover from the delivery. (please see homeopathy and childbirth)

A wide selection of homeopathic remedies can be used during childbirth to aid contractions, reduce the pain, diminish bruising and alleviate fears and anxieties. If you would like to know more about homeopathic remedies during childbirth please contact me. However, a preferred course of treatment is to have started homeopathic treatment early in the pregnancy or even before conception, but it is never too late to start!

After the baby is born, homeopathy can be safely used during breastfeeding for problems such as cracked or sore nipples, mastitis, insufficient breast milk, sleeping difficulties and exhaustion.
 

Pregnancy and parenthood is usually a joyous event, but at times it can bring about emotional disturbances such as a low self-esteem, lack of confidence, anxiety and guilt. Homeopathy takes all these factors into account and aims to alleviate them and strengthen the mother and/or father to cope with the situation.
